In accordance with the construction and management guideline for national key laboratory, the state key laboratory of coal resources and safe mining constantly engaged in developing and introducing advanced apparatus and equipment, so as to improve the hardware construction of the laboratory. Based on its key and special research areas, the laboratory devotes greater efforts to improve its facilities, especially in the five major aspects including the feature analysis of coal resource, the prospecting technology of coal resource, the reserve environment of coal rock, the analysis for microstructure and failure behavior, and the technology of coal mining safety and prediction and forecast; The laboratory continually  supplements the necessary experimental apparatuses and analytical facilities, raising the condition of scientific research up to a world-class level. The laboratory currently possesses the fixed assets of over 118 million yuan and more than 90 large-scale apparatus and facilities.
